Youth Empowered through Sports

Youth Empowered through Sports (Y.E.S.) is an inner-city sports program in Youngstown, Ohio with the mission of encouraging at-risk youth in our community to make positive life choices and embrace value-based living.

Mission/Vision:

To encourage at-risk youth in our community to make positive life choices and embrace value-based living.

Strategy

1) Collaboration with schools, law-enforcement offices and other community-based organizations

2) Provide educational and athletic opportunities in order to promote the ideals of good sportsmanship, mentoring and discipleship.

3) Partnerships with area churches and ministries to promote personal spiritual growth.

Goals:

1) Discouraging destructive and anti-social behavior.

2) Maximize our community youth’s personal potential as an alternative to delinquent acts and/or criminal behavior.

3) Forge a positive relationship between the youth and law enforcement officers within our community.

4) Develop and encourage a stronger relationship between area youth and the faith community.
